The first "modern" NJ windshield stickers were issued in 1956.
When NJ adopted staggered registration renewal in 1956, all motorists
got 1956 tabs for the plates and a windshield sticker expiring anywhere
in 1956 or 1957.

These had a hole punched for the month, and the year in large numbers.

They didn't last long - in 1986 they were replaced with the previous type.
