In early 2008, the 7-digit series of temp plates stopped at (presumably) 5999999. A new series was issued starting at A000001 with some new characteristics - a barcode, the serial number in a black box (top center), the silver hologram stip removed, and the left-hand panel now has color (bluish/pinkish/bluish).
