| This type was first issued in 1964, starting at QQ-A100 (or QQ-A101 ?). It was one of the FIRST New Jersey types to use the full state name "NEW JERSEY". QQ-K809 is the highest known on this base. Thanks to Barry Black - ALPCA 9752 - for this new information. |

| In 1977, a slightly different base was issued, with the "NEW JERSEY" die matching the passenger plate version. The "W" is more narrow in this version ... it was very wide on the 64/77 base. QQ-L through QQ-P are known on the 1977 base. |

| With the 1979 base, the numbering continued ... QQ-W is the lowest blue base I know of. After this, the numbering reversed to 100A-QQ. 638Q-QQ is the highest seen on the blue base. |
