Fully reflectorized graphic plates were issued for the first time in November 1992.

These plates had 7 digits, in AAA0000 format,
and the little New Jersey separator was gone.

The letters O and I were not used on standard passenger plates from this point forward (Q was never used).
 1992     November - December:   AAA1000 ... AAR9999
 1993     AAS1000 ... ADJ9999   and   BA-100A ... CN-999Z
A short while after the release of the 7-digit plates, they were
discontinued because of "poor readability".   Huh ?

(Block letters, 3-alpha, 4-numeric, how simple can ya get ????)

A new series starting at BA-100A was issued in May 1993.
(The 7-digit series was still issued as plates were used up, and ended at ADJ9999 in July 1993.)

ADK1000 - The plate that never was...

If the 7-digit series would have continued,
this plate would have been the next one off the line.

Instead, it's a cool vanity now on Jeff's truck.

In October 1997, VA and UE appeared at the same time, and the
U's and V's were issued together until UV and VZ were reached
in April 1998.
